Go on a Magical Adventure to the House of the Fairies and How to Find it

Twin Creek Trail House of the Fairies

Hiking in The Great Smoky Mountain National Forest is already pretty close to magic but children fully entertained in a hike? That is true sorcery. Don't just take the kids on a walk take them on an adventure through the woods on a top secret investigation! You will learn everything you need to know including where to find the House of Fairies and how to make it a one of a kind adventure!

Fairy Investigation

Instead of just hiking to the house of the fairies we wanted to create an experience your children will never forget with a top secret letter for anyone willing to investigate and discover anything suggesting that fairies could be real! But in order to investigate fairies you will need to know what to look for, you will also recieve a guide into fairies so you can learn everything you need to know from characteristics and traits to habits. You will also recieve a map of the trail under investigation so you can follow along and mark anything particularly magical to send back to your fellow investigator.

The House of Fairies is not marked on the map in order to keep the magic alive, watch as your child's face lights up when they discover they have found (almost) "real" magic. Weather you want to admit to trickery at the end of your adventure is up to you!

How to Find the House of the Fairies

This structure can be found off of the Twin Creek Trail you can choose to park in the Twin Creek public parking area which is the closest to the fairyhouse if you just want to squeeze a short walk in.

Or if you want to make an adventure out of it you can choose to park in Mynatt park or in the Ogle Place parking lot area. If you choose to park in the Ogle Place parking lot you will also have the opportunity to explore the "Bud" Ogle cabin and a tub mill on his property. The fairyhouse is located in the middle between the two parking areas leaving about a 2.2 mile walk from either side round trip, or a 4.5 mile walk if you want to complete the full trail.

Look for a small path off the main trail near the resource center. If you are coming from mynatt park or the Twin Creeek public parking area it will be past the resource center and if you are coming from Ogles Place it will be before it. The path will lead you through the trees behind the resource center directly to the old spring house built into the mountain.

Head out on a one of a kind adventure with your family to discover magic, weather it's real or pretend is up to you.
